Who and where are we
Sebastopol College is a large, co-educational stand alone 7-12 Secondary College with approximately 1000 students and over 90 experienced staff. The College is located on a 13 hectare site within the south-west growth corridor of the City of Ballarat. The City of Ballarat is located 140 km west of Melbourne in the state of Victoria and was established during the goldrush period of the 1850's.
The College is one of three stand alone and one multi-campus Government schools that compete for a student population of approximately 7000 with four private schools. Neighbourhood schooling and increasing residential development has introduced a shift in the local socio-economics and college population base. The evolution from Sebastopol Technical School to a comprehensive 7 -12 Secondary College commenced in 1990.
An extensive transition program with feeder schools enables a caring introduction to the College for students from more than 28 primary schools. A progressive primary to secondary transition program is enhanced by a sub-school support team and nurse. To Locate the College using GOOGLE Maps

The College provides quality instruction in all curriculum areas and has an expanding Victorian Certificate of Education program giving access to a broad range of studies.
Sebastopol College is committed to an ongoing development of facilities and resources that enhance the opportunities for our students. Our extensive facilities have been improved by a recent upgrade of the Administration, Humanities, Student Services, Information Technology, Arts, Technology and Music facilities.
Sebastopol College encourages students to achieve their maximum potential in academic, sporting, recreational pastimes and outdoor pursuits. We place a strong emphasis on the character building properties of these activities and will continue to do so in order to assist students to achieve their desired goals. The College uniform, developed in consultation with parents and students is supported by a Council policy and Student Code of Conduct.
We have established a co-operative student management program which reinforces the principle of taking responsibility for one's own actions. Our Council fosters the belief that co-operation, responsibility and respect are the three key criteria in the management of College interpersonal relationships.
The whole College community shares the belief that each participant is a growing, learning person; that through the life long learning process, parent, teacher and student all grow and learn together. This concept is strongly fostered and encouraged in the classroom.
