Student Services

At Sebastopol College we respect and celebrate the fact that every student is an individual. Student well being is a critical factor in delivering student learning and achievement.

Student Services is the component of the College whose primary task is to promote student wellbeing across the College. In 2005 the Student Services team undertook a comprehensive audit of all student well-being indicators. The result was the Sebastopol College Mind Matters Blueprint, which is a plan for promoting student wellbeing between 2006 and 2008.

The College is committed to supporting the following initiatives:

  • College Doctor: General practitioner doctor Lisa Cheshire is on duty at the College every Friday afternoon. Students can secure an appointment through Joyce Keating.

  • College Breakfast Program: Free breakfast is available to all students in the canteen from 8:20

  • Boyz Only and Girls Rock: Are after school clubs for students in year 7 & 8 to meet on a social basis. Students share afternoon tea and then join in a range of planned activities. Students in grade 6 at Redan Primary School are also welcome to take part in this activity.

  • WASP: Weights After School Program, currently managed by Mr. Josh Ebbels, Student Services Manager. Students are welcome to join in a supervised weights workout session on either Tuesday or Thursday night.

  • Bully Proofing our School: The College is committed to ensuring that all students feel happy and safe in their school environment. To achieve this we continue to endorse the You Can Do it Program, Joyce Keating also delivers an interactive anti bullying program for all students in year 7. We encourage any student to report any incident of bullying so that the situation can be resolved quickly.

College Connections: The College believes that our community partners are an invaluable recourse. We regularly work closely with:

* Youth Pathways                                            * Child And Adolescent Mental Health

* Ballarat Community Health                           * Child and Family Services

* Highlands Student Services.
