Student Achievement
Sebastopol College seeks to provide educational and cultural experiences that will promote personal excellence of endeavour. All students are encouraged and supported to experience success within the College environment.
The College is proud of the excellent performance of its students in their endeavours. Recently V.C.E. results have consistently been well above State average. In addition to this performance by College students is the successful entry into tertiary and further education institutions of their choice.
A proud sporting record of the College has led to the school being identified as an "Exemplary School" in the field of Physical Education and Sport. The College is a regular participant in State Championships. The College is one of a few Specialist Sports Schools in Victoria.

Students at the College are actively encouraged to participate in productions, performances, presentations and exhibitions which highlight their skills and development. Music concerts, Art Exhibitions, National and State Academic Competitions and Public Speaking Forums are some examples where the talents of students at the College are highlighted. The College has been selected for the Premier's Youth Development Program and now provides additional student leadership opportunities through the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The annual College Presentation Evening is a "show case" for student achievement. This evening recognises the excellence of endeavour by College students in academic, sporting and community pursuits.
The College and wider community provide a number of scholarships to assist students, particularly in their senior years, with their studies.
Regular reporting to parents on student achievement is a feature of the College program. Comprehensive written reports and parent/teacher/student interviews enable students, parents and the College to monitor the progress of individuals.
Student Welfare, Support and Management
Sebastopol Secondary College seeks to create a stimulating, caring and supportive learning environment where staff have the resources, facilities and focus to ensure students are reaching their maximum potential.
The College provides structures, guidelines and resources to support students in achieving their potential. Student management, administration and support of students at the College is undertaken by the sub-school teams led by the Assistant Principal, Sub-school Co-ordinator and Year Level Co-ordinators.
Specialist support staff are also available to assist students.
A Vocational Education Counsellor is available to guide students with decisions relating to program selection, study directions and career pathways. Regular communication and reporting to parents is a feature of the student management and support program.
Structures within the College are designed to promote student responsibility and leadership through representative committees and participation in year level leadership roles.
