Year 8 Boy's Netball Report

On Thursday the 20^th of August, 9 boys set out to put into practice all the hard work they have done over the last couple of months. After playing netball as part of their HAPE classes, these boys volunteered their time and skills to contest the BSSSA competition here in Ballarat, but due to lack of numbers in the opposition found themselves playing in the Western Zone Finals instead. The nine boys were Corey Johns, Tarquin Walsh, Jye-Leigh Drinkwater, Luke Delemontex, Phil Derbyshire, Tyson Barnes, Dylan Pearson, Nick Wilkie and Tyler Bux. On the day, they played two games against Oberon and Colac Secondary Colleges. Unfortunately they didn’t have any luck but they never gave up and put in an outstanding effort given this was the first time they had played in a competition. Players amongst the goals were, Tyson, Jye-Leigh, Dylan and Phil. Best players on the day were Tyler, Jye-Leigh, Phil and Tarquin. Thanks to the many other students who filled numbers to help these boys train each week and Mr. Gosbell for coming along on the day and supporting the boys. Well done boys!
