Senior Boys Cricket!

The first game was against BHS, they made an impressive 154 with Darryl Trotter being the most devastating and intimidating bowler in taking 3 wickets and at one stage bowling for a hat trick. Inconsistent fielding and a very slippery ball due to constant rain helped increase the score of BHS. Chasing the impressive total, we started on fire with Jack James and Anthony Tailor (both retired at 40) getting us to 0 for 105, unfortunately due to an unsportsmanlike approach on behalf of the BHS team, we fell 10 runs short and consequently did not make the final!

In a playoff for 3rd position, we came up against Mt Clear, in a bid to give everyone a go we pretty much reversed the batting order with an exemption of two and posted a satisfying 134, with Anthony Tailor once and retiring, this time at 30, captain Dave Parker contributing with 20 and Cam Haley Walsh with some late innings slogging making 20 also. Taking to the field to bowl, Anthony Tailor got us off to a great start taking two early wicket, and despite Mt Clear’s middle order getting on top with two retirements, we managed to hold them off by 10 runs!

Overall, it was a fantastic effort from the boys with all players making valuable contributions with bat and ball, many hilarious moments worth sending into funniest home videos and great sportsmanship displayed by our boys!

Well done!
