Sarah Wins Photography award at the World Environment Day Exhibition
Over the weekend of June 5 – 7, Sarah Jackson as well as 8 other students from the Year 10 photography class, displayed their images at the Mining Exchange building in Ballarat. The Year 10 students were involved in an exhibition that highlighted the effects global change has on our world in 2009. The students work varied from dried river beds to the wonders of colours that still occur in the Autumn months at Ballarat’s botanical gardens.
Sarah’s photograph of the water tank locked behind a wire fence and padlocked demonstrated the importance water is having on our lives. The judges considered it to be an excellent example of what global change means and it invokes a far greater need to be aware of the role water plays on our live and the need we have to lock it up. For this excellent photograph, Sarah received a selection of body and hand creams.
