F1 in Schools STATE CHAMPIONS for 2009:
Sebastopol College students have taken out the coveted REA FI Racing Award yesterday and the State Championships held in Geelong. Competing against from all sectors across the state.
The Basilisk Performance Racing Team (Sebastopol College) comprising Brett Sizeland, Ben Kersten, Warren Mahomet and Aidan Cowie were outright winners with their new racing car.
The Sebastopol College studentshave now qualified for the National Final held in March 2010 at the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation Fastest Car: Basilisk Performance — 1.046 sec (Sebastopol C)
Best Engineered Design: Basilisk Performance (Sebastopol C)
FI Racing Program involves students designing and manufacturing their cars along with developing strong sponsorship links (in this case tremendous support from local Ballarat industries), presentation of the design and marketing process.
F1 is a major international Engineering Design competition for schools around the world.
