Ballarat South Education Precinct Development

The October College Council meeting unanimously voted to proceed with the future merger of Sebastopol College and Redan Primary School. A similar motion will be presented at the Redan Primary School Council meeting for voting. If approved by the Minister for Education the formal process for merging the two schools will proceed over the next eighteen months. There will be tremendous advantages with this new development for teaching and learning and wider educational support programs. Both existing sites will remain and the sharing of programs and specialist staff will commence in the near future. An architect’s concept plan for the redevelopment of the Sebastopol campus sites can be seen below.

Below are thearchitect drawings for the new $2.45 millionCommunity Hub to be constructed at Sebastopol College. The facility will provide space for Health and Gymnasiumareas, meeting and conference facilities along with music practice rooms. Work is expected to commence on the facility in the later part of 2009.
