BSSSA SWIMMING SPORTS 2009
The BSSSA swimming sports were held on Wednesday 25th February. The Sebastopol College students swam themselves into third place overall, with arguably the best results for the College in recent times. The attitude and effort from Sebastopol College saw almost all events challenged, and with many students swimming outside of their age group.
Brooke Lonie (year 17) and Rochelle Mc Cumber (year 13) both won their BSSSA age championship, and both set new BSSSA 100m freestyle records. Cody Kirby (15 year boys) also set a new 100m freestyle record.
The year 7 students were outstanding with both the boys and girls year 13 4 x 50m relay teams winning and qualifying for the VSSSA Zone finals at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on March 25th. These relay teams will also be joined by the year 17 girls 4 x 50m relay team. These girls just missed out on the Ballarat record and will looking for a top two finish in Melbourne.
