Year 8 students start their first subjects from each KLA at curriculum level 1. From then on, they may consolidate at level 1 or progress to level 2 in second semester in one or more KLA areas, depending on their level of achievement and their teacher’s recommendation. Most students will progress through each level in 2 semesters. however the structure has the flexibility to cater for individual differences, so that it is possible for a student to be at any stage in any one learning area at any one time.
Course Pathways
Students are advised that for some VCE studies we recommend particular subjects as preparation. These will be indicated in the subject descriptions, but also talk to your teachers for guidance when choosing year 10 studies.
Payment of Subject Levies
The College pays the majority of the costs of all subjects that we deliver. Some subjects however, have specific extra costs involved. These are clearly indicated in this booklet. Please be aware of these costs and discuss them with your parents before making final choices. Arrangements can be made to pay off subject levies if required. A student who defaults on subject levies may not be able to select higher cost subjects the following semester.
